Air Force Brigadier General Erwin Sugiandi Officially Appointed as Commander of Kodau I
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Former Commander of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Air Force Brigadier General Erwin Sugiandi, has officially taken up the position of Commander of the Indonesian Air Force Regional Command I (Pangkodau I), replacing Air Force Brigadier General Muzafar, on Saturday.
Erwin assumed the role following a handover ceremony directly led by Commander of the National Air Operations Command (Pangkoopsudnas), Air Vice Marshal TNI Minggit Tribowo, at the Halim Perdanakusuma complex in East Jakarta.
During the ceremony, Minggit read the oath of office according to the Islamic faith, which was followed by Erwin.
“That I will not accept any gift or offering of any kind from anyone whom I know or should suspect has any connection or possible connection to my position or duties. That I will always uphold the soldier’s oath,” said Minggit, which was also followed by Erwin.
By assuming the position of Pangkodau I, Erwin will oversee several strategic air bases, including Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base (HLM) in Jakarta, Atang Sendjaja Air Base (ATS) in Bogor, Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base (RSN) in Pekanbaru, Supadio Air Base (SPO) in Pontianak, Husein Sastranegara Air Base (HSN) in Bandung, Soewondo Air Base (SWO) in Medan, Raden Sadjad Air Base (RSA) in Natuna, Suryadarma Air Base (SDM) in Kalijati, Subang, Maimun Saleh Air Base (MUS) in Sabang, and Hang Nadim Air Base (HNM) in Batam.
As for Muzafar, Minggit appreciated all the performance delivered during his tenure as Pangkodau I.
“Air Force Brigadier General TNI Muzafar has been able to lead and carry out the tasks of Kodau I well and has successfully executed various missions and humanitarian operations as well as supporting national sovereignty on land and at sea, which is part of the evidence of Kodau I’s performance,” said Minggit.
Minggit hopes that the change in command will further strengthen the Indonesian Air Force organisation in safeguarding national sovereignty.
