JAKARTA – The development of humanoid robots has entered a new phase amid growing demands for safety, data protection and system reliability before the technology is widely deployed in public spaces and commercial environments. Meeting international standards has become an essential aspect of ensuring that AI-based robots can operate safely when interacting with humans.

One humanoid robot developed by AiMOGA, Mornine, has strengthened its readiness for wider acceptance in the global market. Mornine has met three European Union standards and certifications covering both hardware and software aspects. The three standards are CE-MD (Machinery Safety Directive), EN 18031 (Cybersecurity and Data Protection), and CE-RED (Radio Equipment Directive).

The achievement forms part of AiMOGA’s process of preparing Mornine for use across various markets. Beyond the EU standards, the robot has also obtained FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification in the United States, relating to wireless communication devices.

AiMOGA is an official subsidiary of Chery Group, established in early 2025 to focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics technology. Zhang Guibing, President of Chery International and President of AiMOGA Robotics, said the certifications relate to safety and reliability aspects of the technology before it is deployed in real life.

“For AiMOGA Robotics, certification has never been merely an administrative step, but rather the beginning of a robot’s journey towards real-world deployment. We always place safety, operational system reliability, and data protection as top priorities,” Zhang said in an official statement received by Republika.co.id on Monday (7/9/2026).

The assessment against these standards was carried out by TUV Rheinland, an independent testing, inspection and certification body operating globally.

CE-MD covers the assessment of mechanical, electrical and functional safety aspects. The assessment also includes mechanical design, system development, and the integration between hardware and software.

Meanwhile, EN 18031 concerns cybersecurity and data protection for connected devices. Mornine is said to have met EN 18031-1:2024 for cybersecurity and EN 18031-2:2024 for data protection.
