AIESEC in UI Shapes Future Leaders Through Data Analytics Programme

AIESEC in UI is addressing the demand for data analysts with leadership capabilities through its AIESEC Future Leaders (AFL) programme. Themed ‘RETURN2ROOTS’, the programme is designed to produce global-level data analysts who are sharp in reading data and can become future leaders capable of seeing problems from their fundamental roots. The programme responds to the latest Future of Jobs Report from the World Economic Forum (WEF), which states that the Data Analyst profession is the highest in demand in the global market, driven by the rapid flow of digital information worldwide. The need for data analysts with leadership skills is expected to continue soaring, creating millions of new jobs globally by 2027. The series of AIESEC Future Leaders activities opened with an induction session by Ammar Muhammad Rafif, LCVP Engagement With AIESEC, who outlined the agenda and competencies participants would gain. ‘During this programme, you will be challenged to think globally, act locally, and face real-world problems directly,’ Ammar said. Encouraging participants to actively seize development opportunities, Ammar also urged them to apply their knowledge to create a positive impact on their surroundings. Thus, AFL is expected to be a starting point for participants to develop change-oriented leadership character. One of the implementation platforms for the outcomes of the series of agendas followed by the 55 AFL participants was the Final Project Day, serving as an evaluation and learning session after more than two months of Capacity Building. In this session, participants presented data-driven solutions for SDG 4 (Quality Education) issues through pitches and presentations assessed by a panel of professional judges. The session provided a platform for delegates to demonstrate the analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills developed throughout the programme. The judges included Vivian Wijayanto, Programme Director of ASEAN Youth Organization; Humala Septian, Founder and CEO of Future Brand Leaders; and Ellya Dameria Enesca, Director of the Centre of Security and Foreign Affair Studies (CESFAS) at Universitas Kristen Indonesia. Each judge brought deep competence, with Vivian experienced in youth empowerment and cross-country collaboration, Humala focused on personal branding and talent readiness for future industry needs, and Ellya offering an academic and strategic perspective on public policy and global issues. The AIESEC Future Leaders Summer Peak 2026, consisting of 10 agendas and running since 2 May, concluded with a Graduation Day on 27 June 2026 at the FMIPA Multipurpose Hall, University of Indonesia. Through reflection sessions, inspirational talk shows, interactive activities, and a Rewards and Recognition session, participants had the opportunity to appreciate their experiences and achievements throughout the programme. The success of AFL was reinforced by a post-event satisfaction survey with an average Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 9.42 out of 10. Supported by 14 mentors, the programme provided an opportunity for 91 participants to learn about leadership and the field of data analysis. Through the AIESEC Future Leaders series, participants are expected to carry forward the knowledge, values, and connections they have built as provisions for their future leadership journeys.
