AIESEC in UI Shapes Future Leaders Through Data Analytics Programme
AIESEC at the University of Indonesia (UI) is responding to the demand for data analysts with leadership capabilities through its AIESEC Future Leaders (AFL) programme. Themed ‘RETURN2ROOTS’, the programme is designed to produce data analysts of a global standard who are sharp in reading data and capable of becoming future leaders who can examine problems from their fundamental roots.
The programme responds to the latest Future of Jobs Report from the World Economic Forum (WEF), which states that the data analyst profession is among the most in-demand jobs in the global market amid the rapid flow of digital information worldwide.
Demand for data analysts with leadership skills is expected to continue rising, creating millions of new jobs worldwide by 2027.
The series of AIESEC Future Leaders activities opened with an induction session led by Ammar Muhammad Rafif, LCVP Engagement With AIESEC, who outlined the programme’s agenda and the competencies participants would gain.
‘For the duration of this programme, you will be challenged to think globally, act locally, and confront real-world problems head-on,’ said Ammar.
Encouraging participants to make full use of the opportunity for growth, Ammar also invited them to apply the knowledge gained to deliver a positive impact on their surrounding communities. In doing so, AFL is hoped to serve as a first step for participants in developing leadership character oriented towards change.
Learning on Final Project Day
One of the platforms for implementing the outcomes of the entire series of agendas followed by the 55 AFL participants was Final Project Day, which served as an evaluation and learning opportunity after more than two months of Capacity Building sessions.
In this session, participants presented data-driven solutions to issues relating to SDG 4 (Quality Education) through pitches and presentations assessed by a panel of professional judges. The session was a stage for the delegates to demonstrate the analytical, problem-solving and communication skills developed throughout the programme.
The judging panel comprised Vivian Wijayanti, Program Director of the ASEAN Youth Organisation; Humala Septian, Founder and CEO of Future Brand Leaders; and Ellya Dameria Enesca, Director of the Centre of Security and Foreign Affairs Studies (CESFAS) at Universitas Kristen Indonesia.
Each judge brings deep expertise: Vivian has extensive experience in youth empowerment and cross-border collaboration; Humala focuses on personal branding and preparing talent for the needs of future industry; while Ellya offers academic and strategic perspectives on public policy and global affairs analysis.
AIESEC Future Leaders Summer Peak 2026, comprising ten agendas and running since 2 May, concluded with a Graduation Day on 27 June 2026 at the Multidisciplinary Hall of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Indonesia. Through reflection sessions, an inspiring talk show, interactive activities, and a Rewards and Recognition session, participants had the opportunity to appreciate the experiences and achievements gained throughout the programme.
The success of AFL was reinforced by a post-event satisfaction survey yielding an average Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 9.42 out of 10. Supported by 14 mentors, the programme offered 91 participants the chance to learn about leadership and the field of data analysis.
Through the AIESEC Future Leaders series, participants are expected to carry forward the knowledge, values and connections they have built as provisions for their leadership journeys in the future.
