Children living with cancer observe Ramadan differently. Amid a long treatment process, they continue to show resilience and hope that strengthens families and those around them.

As part of the Ramadan Safari 1447 H series, Indonesia Mining Industry Holding MIND ID is distributing assistance to children residing at Rumah Singgah Lilin Pelita Kasih, which currently supports more than 85 children with cancer and their families from various regions across Indonesia.

The assistance includes nutritional supplements, basic food packages, as well as hygiene supplies and allowances to support daily needs during treatment. The handover of aid was also attended by MIND ID personnel, who engaged directly with the children and accompanying families through activities such as children’s education, team building, beadwork, and storytelling.

Additionally, the children and the foundation gained knowledge from MIND ID personnel about the use of mining products processed into everyday items.

Corporate Secretary Pria Utama stated that Ramadan provides a moment to broaden care, especially for vulnerable groups needing ongoing support. ‘In this meaningful month, we want our presence to be truly felt. These children are not only fighting to recover, but also teaching us about resilience and hope. We hope this simple help can lighten the burden on families,’ he said.

Pria explained that children with cancer require support not only of a medical nature but also psychological and social support to maintain their spirit during treatment.

Through Ramadan Safari, the company aims to ensure social assistance reaches the most in-need groups. The programme consistently targets vulnerable communities, including children with critical illnesses.

The presence of employees in these activities forms part of the effort to provide direct moral support, while also strengthening empathy and solidarity.

Furthermore, Pria emphasised that social commitment is an integral part of MIND ID’s role as a national strategic minerals holding company. He noted that the company’s impact should be measured not only by economic contributions but also by the social impact felt by communities, particularly vulnerable groups.

‘MIND ID believes that industrial development and downstream processing must go hand in hand with improving quality of life for people. Support for children with cancer is part of our commitment to help safeguard Indonesia’s future so that the next generation continues to have hope, health, and equal opportunities to grow,’ he concluded.
