Aid for cashew projects

JAKARTA (JP): The United Nations Development Program (UNDP)
warranted yesterday a technical assistance worth US$701,750 to
the Ministry of Agriculture for cashew development projects in
eastern provinces of Indonesia.

According to the project document, signed yesterday by the
UNDP Resident Representative C. Jan Kamp and Secretary-General of
the Ministry of Agriculture Soetatwo Hadiwigeno, the technical
assistance will be provided for the establishment of 35,750
hectares of cashew nut groves involving 45,000 smallholders in
West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku. (hdj)
