AI Will Not Replace Humans, but Digital Talent Unwilling to Learn Could Be Left Behind
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed how industries operate and given rise to new professions. Amid this digital transformation, Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a Digital Business Campus, has stressed that AI is not a threat but a technology that must be understood and utilised to support productivity. Professor Agus Subekti, Head of the Master of Informatics programme at UNM, stated that the future of the workplace will not be determined by strength, but by the ability to continuously learn and adapt. “AI will not replace humans, but humans who can utilise AI will have an advantage over those unwilling to improve their competencies. Therefore, a culture of lifelong learning has become an absolute necessity in the era of digital transformation,” he said. Professor Agus noted that the industry now requires talent capable of not only using technology but also designing technology-based solutions. Competencies in AI, Big Data, Software Engineering, Blockchain, Cyber Security, and Digital Leadership are increasingly sought after by both national and global companies. In response to this demand, UNM has introduced a Master of Informatics programme designed to produce adaptive and innovative graduates who can lead digital transformation. The programme is open to graduates from various disciplines and professionals aiming to enhance their competencies and expand their career opportunities. Through a curriculum based on research and industry needs, students gain an integrated learning experience that combines theory with practical problem-solving. “We do not just equip students with technological mastery, but also with analytical skills, research capabilities, innovation, and digital leadership.
