Jakarta – Developments in artificial intelligence (AI), automation and data-based technology have transformed the landscape of workforce needs. Companies no longer require merely professionals who can operate technology, but also individuals capable of analysing problems, designing strategies, leading innovation and making data-driven decisions.

In response to these challenges, Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), as a Digital Business Campus, has introduced a Master of Informatics Programme designed to equip professionals with advanced digital competencies alongside the research and leadership skills needed in the era of digital transformation.

Pursuing postgraduate study is no longer simply about obtaining an academic qualification. For professionals, a master’s degree has become a strategic step towards broadening horizons, strengthening competitiveness and opening up career opportunities at managerial and specialist levels.

Students of the UNM Master of Informatics Programme do not merely learn how to implement technology; they are also trained to understand technology deployment strategies, manage risks, analyse organisational impact and produce innovations capable of meeting the needs of industry and society.

The Head of the Master of Informatics Study Programme at Universitas Nusa Mandiri, Prof. Dr. Agus Subekti, said that technological developments demand that professionals possess strategic thinking abilities rather than purely technical skills.

“In the era of AI, companies need talent capable of integrating technology with business needs. The Master of Informatics Programme at Universitas Nusa Mandiri is designed to produce professionals who not only master cutting-edge technology, but are also able to lead innovation, conduct research and deliver digital solutions that create real impact for organisations and society,” he said in a press release received on Saturday (18 July).

The UNM Master of Informatics Programme offers a range of specialisations relevant to industry needs, such as Artificial Intelligence & Blockchain, Software Engineering & Data Science, and Computer Vision & Image Processing. These competencies are increasingly in demand across various sectors, from banking, government, healthcare and education to manufacturing, the technology industry and the digital economy.

Through research-based learning and industry case studies, students are prepared to develop into IT Strategists, Data Scientists, AI Specialists, Software Engineering Specialists, IT Consultants, Technology Project Managers, researchers, academics, technopreneurs and leaders of digital transformation.

He stressed that postgraduate education is a long-term investment for professionals who wish to remain relevant amid very rapid technological change.

“Technology will continue to evolve, but the ability to think critically, conduct research, collaborate and make data-driven decisions will always be needed competencies. For this reason, we invite professionals to continue investing in themselves through quality education so they can become part of Indonesia’s digital transformation,” he added.

With the right digital competencies, professionals will not only be prepared to face change, but will also be able to drive innovation in the era of artificial intelligence.
