PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk believes that corporate use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology will continue to increase in the future. According to the company, businesses will not only stop at using AI technology in their business processes, but will begin to focus on how the use of AI technology affects the acceleration of business value improvement and its impact on measurable operational performance.

President Director Susanto Djaja explained that companies that do not implement AI in their business journey will be left behind. Therefore, corporate investment allocation for AI technology is expected to increase.

In the IDC Info Snapshot report ‘From AI Spending to AI Value Creation’, prepared together with the company, it was recorded that 56.7 percent of organisations in Indonesia plan to raise their GenAI budgets by more than 50 percent, more than double the Asia Pacific average of 29.8 percent.

‘This is a signal that companies that do not increase investment in AI will be left behind. Investment in other sectors can be wait and see, but investment in AI cannot be wait and see because technology in the world is not slowing down,’ said Susanto at the Metrodata Solution Day (MSD) 2026 press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (20/8).

Overall, Susanto stated that in terms of AI maturity, organisations and companies in Indonesia have only reached 2.03 out of a scale of 5, still below the Asia Pacific and global average. According to him, the gap between the surge in investment and the level of implementation maturity is a problem that must be solved in every company or entity.

‘The challenge in the AI era like today is that human resources must be ready. AI will run well if it is supported by good data and supported by competent human resources as well,’ he said.

Susanto explained that for the company itself, in the era of massively developing AI technology, it is targeting revenue and net profit growth of 10 percent for the full year 2026. He is optimistic that by utilising and optimising AI, the company’s performance target can be achieved this year.

Looking back, the company’s net profit realisation up to the first half of 2026 was Rp313.7 billion, growing 6.6 percent year on year. Meanwhile, revenue grew higher at 16.7 percent to Rp13.6 trillion.

‘So far, our revenue is above target, but the homework is on the bottom line. This is likely to be answered by the solutions and consulting business units, where in the second semester there are usually more transactions,’ he said.
