Samuel Wongso, a representative of Wong Hang Bersaudara, stated that AI Smart Measurement was developed to meet the industry’s need for a faster, more accurate, and more efficient clothing measurement process compared to conventional methods. “This technology was developed to deliver a more precise and consistent body measurement process through the use of artificial intelligence. The hope is that the clothing production process can become more efficient and improve the quality of the final product,” said Samuel Wongso in Jakarta on Wednesday, 1 July 2026. He explained that the development of AI Smart Measurement was the result of a lengthy research process. Wong Hang Bersaudara’s experience as a tailoring house and clothing manufacturer since 1933 served as the primary foundation for building the measurement algorithm. Samuel explained that decades of understanding human body proportions were combined with digital data processing capabilities developed together with Aksadigitex. Through various testing and refinement stages, the technology was designed to produce body measurements with a high degree of accuracy. “We are not just developing an application, but transforming decades of experience in the garment industry into an AI-based system capable of delivering more precise measurement results,” he said. The innovation also attracted the attention of President Prabowo Subianto, who directly observed the AI Smart Measurement during his visit to the National Police Logistics Exhibition as part of the Bhayangkara 2026 anniversary. On that occasion, Samuel explained the background of the technology’s development, its working mechanism, and its potential application in supporting the digital transformation of the national textile and garment industry. According to Samuel, the attention from the President serves as encouragement for domestic technology industry players to continue presenting innovations that address the needs of Indonesia’s manufacturing sector. He added that AI Smart Measurement has the potential to be applied not only in the commercial garment industry but also in the procurement of uniforms for various institutions requiring mass measurement with a high degree of accuracy. Moving forward, Wong Hang Bersaudara and Aksadigitex will continue to develop the implementation of AI Smart Measurement so it can be utilised more widely across various sectors requiring technology-based clothing measurement services.
