The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation has significantly altered the landscape of the working world. Companies now require more than workers with basic technology skills; they need advanced IT professionals capable of creating innovative solutions.

This situation positions the Master’s in Informatics programme as a strategic choice in the digital era. According to the LinkedIn Global Talent Trends report for 2025, demand for talent skilled in AI, machine learning, and data science has been steadily increasing in recent years. The World Economic Forum similarly emphasises advanced technology skills as a key factor in global workforce competitiveness.

The Head of the Informatics Master’s Study Programme at Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), Prof Dr Agus Subekti, states that further education has become an absolute necessity for IT professionals.

“In the current AI era, IT professionals cannot stop learning. Technology is evolving so rapidly that enhancing competencies is essential to remain competitive,” he said in a statement quoted on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

He explained that the master’s programme not only deepens technical abilities but also fosters critical and analytical thinking. “Master’s students are required to develop technology-based solutions for real-world industry problems,” he added.

The growing need for technology experts is evident from the increasing number of companies seeking candidates with advanced qualifications. Even strategic positions in AI, data science, and cybersecurity now require a master’s degree.

Moreover, the emergence of new fields such as computer vision, blockchain, and big data analytics further underscores the urgency of advanced education for IT professionals aiming to stay relevant and competitive.

Meanwhile, Bryan Givan, Head of the UNM Jatiwaringin Campus, added that the master’s level opens up broader and more strategic career opportunities.

“Professionals who advance to the master’s level have opportunities to rise to strategic positions, whether as experts, researchers, or leaders in technology,” he stated. He also emphasised the importance of choosing an educational institution aligned with industry needs.

“The master’s programme must be designed to adapt to technological developments so that graduates are truly prepared for workplace challenges,” he explained.

As a Digital Business Campus, UNM offers a Master’s in Informatics programme designed to meet the needs of the current digital industry, with a focus on developing future technologies such as AI and data science.

Furthermore, UNM has achieved Excellent accreditation for its Master’s in Informatics (S2) programme, strengthening its position as a competitive and globally relevant higher education institution.

Registration for new students at UNM is now open. Complete information can be accessed via https://pmb.nusamandiri.ac.id/.

Amid increasingly tight global competition, pursuing a master’s degree at UNM as a Digital Business Campus is no longer just an option but an important investment. With deeper and more relevant competencies, opportunities for growth in the working world are wide open.
