Hefei (ANTARA) - In recent years, the city of Hefei, capital of Anhui Province in China, has actively promoted the development of the intelligent robot industry, building a research and development (R&D) and manufacturing system covering the entire industrial chain, and facilitating the transition of robots from the laboratory to real-life scenarios.

Opened in November 2025, the training venue for Embodied Artificial Intelligence (EAI) robot data collection in Hefei, also nicknamed the ‘University for Robots’, now has around 100 robots in training and covers a training area of 6,000 square metres.

The robots at the venue learn to do household chores, carry boxes and pick items, preparing themselves for their jobs in real-world scenarios.

In April, a robot centre providing one-stop services for the purchase, rental, replacement, high-end customisation and repair of robots opened in Yaohai District, Hefei.

To date, Hefei has brought together 190 companies from the upstream and downstream of the EAI robot industry chain. The city is also accelerating the process of technological transformation and commercial application.
