AI-Generated Photo Responding to East Jakarta Resident Complaint on JAKI App Created and Uploaded by PPSU Officer
East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin has revealed the creator and uploader of an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated photo used to respond to a report on illegal parking enforcement via the JAKI app. Based on the examination results, he stated that the AI photo was created and uploaded by a PPSU officer.
He initially explained that three officials have been examined by the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate regarding the AI photo. He mentioned that the three officials were examined for the negligence of the PPSU officer who created and uploaded the AI photo.
“So, based on the examination results from the DKI Jakarta Inspectorate, the Kalisari Ward Head, the Head of Community Development Section, and the Head of Government Section were deemed negligent in controlling and supervising their subordinates, namely the PPSU tasked with handling public complaints,” Munjirin said when asked for confirmation on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
When asked if the creator and uploader of the AI photo to the JAKI app was a PPSU officer, Munjirin confirmed it. He stated that this was in accordance with the Inspectorate’s examination results.
“In accordance with the Inspectorate’s examination results,” Munjirin replied.
Munjirin stated that the Kalisari Ward Head has been suspended as a result of the case. The Head of Government Section and the Head of Community Development Section are still being examined by the Inspectorate.
“According to the examination results, the ward head will be suspended while awaiting further examination results for the ward head, the Head of Government Section, and the Head of Community Development Section. Insyaallah, tomorrow the suspension letter will be handed over to the individual. Until when? Until the further examination by the inspection team is completed,” he said.
Pramono Requests Search for Creator and Uploader of AI Photo
Previously, Pramono Anung stated that regarding the use of an AI-generated photo in the report on illegal parking enforcement on the JAKI app, the PPSU cannot be entirely blamed. He has asked the DKI Inspectorate to thoroughly investigate the case.
“The Inspectorate is conducting an in-depth investigation into the Kalisari Ward Head, the PPSU, and the Sub-District Office. Everything will surely be uncovered in due time,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (7/4).
Previously, Kalisari Ward Head Siti Nurhasanah stated that the PPSU officer who uploaded the AI photo has been given a sanction in the form of a First Warning Letter (SP1). This was done because the PPSU officer uploaded an AI-generated photo of illegal parking enforcement on the JAKI app.
“We apologise profusely for this incident. This serves as a lesson for us to ensure it does not happen again in the future. The officer in question has been given an SP1 and has made a statement not to repeat the action,” Siti said in her statement on Monday (6/4).
Siti explained that the PPSU officer initially followed up on a public report about illegal parking received through the JAKI app. However, the officer uploaded a generated photo as if the location had already been enforced.
The action then went viral on social media. Siti emphasised that she has asked all officers to report if they face challenges in the field.
