Hong Kong (ANTARA) - An artificial intelligence (AI) platform developed by the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) has been shown to enhance self-directed learning and academic performance among its student users, according to study results announced by the university on Tuesday (25/8).

According to the study, the AI platform named EASE achieved these positive results through personalised practice and assessment tailored to each student’s needs.

The EASE study by EdUHK was conducted from June 2025 with at least 2,200 primary and secondary school students as participants.

Focusing on mathematics education, the platform creates a personalised learning approach complemented by real-time feedback features, automated marking, error analysis, and learning reports.

The platform also supports teaching decisions while fostering proactive error-correction habits and self-directed learning.

Head of EdUHK’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Yan Zi, said that EASE, equipped with a design grounded in educational theory, is able to foster self-directed learning, positioning AI as a student assistant, and holds deep value for cultivating sustainable learning habits and error correction.
