Barcelona, Spain, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) — Voice services and telecommunications are fundamental to operator services and play a vital role in people’s daily lives. By 2025, the number of New Calling service users in China had exceeded 80 million and continues to grow. More than 70 device models now support data channel (DC) features. China Mobile has even launched an AI-based assistant that provides various services through telephone calls, including medical consultation and pharmaceutical purchases, thereby truly realising the concept of call-as-a-service. New Calling services are also beginning to expand beyond China. Several operators such as Zain in Kuwait, stc in Saudi Arabia, and AIS in Thailand are introducing features such as Visualized Voice Calling and simultaneous translation, opening broader opportunities for global growth.

From the perspective of service user experience, voice services continue to evolve with advances in communication networks. With the advent of 5G-A and AI, voice services are moving towards more immersive and interactive experiences. Huawei’s AI Calling solution leverages the dial pad on mobile phones and the massive telephone number resources owned by operators. The integration of AI technology enhances the calling experience whilst opening new opportunities for operators to deliver value-added services.

To address the challenges posed by voice service networks across various generations, Huawei has developed a Single Voice Core (SVC) solution based on integrated bare-metal infrastructure. This solution consolidates user access across 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, and fixed networks into a unified network. This enables operators to gradually discontinue the use of legacy equipment and transition to more efficient bare-metal architecture. This approach provides long-term benefits through a single capital investment.

By integrating noise reduction technology into the highly integrated SVC network, operators can deliver clear call quality and elevate HD telephone calling experiences to become more immersive across various devices. In voice service innovation, calling assistants can enhance the communication process through features such as intelligent call answering, real-time translation, and post-call summaries. In interactive services based on DC, multimodal assistants are capable of handling more complex tasks during telephone calls, connecting various industries through telephone numbers and delivering unified service access in the AI era.

MWC 2026 will take place from 2–5 March in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei is prepared to collaborate with global industry partners to transform every telephone call with AI support, improve the quality of every connection, and usher in a new era of call-as-a-service.
