The increasing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors is driving demand for more secure, integrated digital infrastructure capable of supporting large-scale data-driven operations. This development was a key topic at the ALE AI Forum 2026, organised by ALE International under its Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise brand in Jakarta.

The forum brought together IT and communications industry players, business decision-makers, and technology partners to discuss AI implementation advancements, digital network management, and data centre strengthening in Indonesia.

Industry participants shared experiences on AI implementation for operational efficiency, network management, and optimising large-scale data centres.

Novse Hardiman, Country Leader of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Indonesia, stated that AI is now a critical component of operational needs across industrial sectors. He noted that organisations must prepare digital infrastructure capable of optimally supporting AI implementation.

“Through this forum, we aim to help Indonesian organisations better understand how to strategically adopt AI by building intelligent, secure, measurable, and data-driven digital infrastructure,” Hardiman said.

He explained that simplifying digital infrastructure operations is crucial for enhancing system visibility, strengthening digital resilience, and accelerating AI-driven transformation.

“We are striving to simplify operational complexity while enabling large-scale innovation through secure networks, intelligent automation, and integrated communication solutions,” he added.

The forum also highlighted the importance of collaboration between technology providers, businesses, and the public sector to accelerate national digital economic growth.

According to Gartner data, global AI technology spending is projected to reach $2.5 trillion in 2026 and rise to $3.3 trillion in 2027. The largest investments are expected to go towards AI infrastructure development, followed by AI-based services and software.

In Indonesia, AI investment is projected to contribute up to $36.6 billion to the national GDP by 2030, driven by manufacturing, e-commerce, and financial services sectors increasingly adopting AI in their business operations.

According to Hardiman, companies that effectively leverage AI will have greater opportunities to thrive amid the accelerated digital transformation.

“Organisations that will succeed in the future are those capable of adopting beneficial AI to support business transformation and enhance operational agility,” he concluded. (E-3)
