The government claims that the Trans-Java Toll Road is in prime condition to support the smooth flow of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 exodus. This was stated by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) while monitoring the exodus from the Jasa Marga Tell Road Command Centre (JMTC) office in Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday, 19 March 2026.

“We are also anticipating all forms of incidents, including weather, which is monitored 24 hours a day, of course in collaboration with BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency), and the field officers,” said AHY, quoted from Antara.

He also stated that Thursday is the peak of the exodus, as previously predicted. The government, according to AHY, has anticipated several waves of peak exodus traffic, starting from Saturday, 14 March 2026; Sunday, 15 March 2026; Wednesday, 18 March 2026; and on Thursday.

From direct monitoring and reports via CCTV and video conferences, said AHY, congestion points were observed at Kilometre (Km) 70 Cikatama (Karawang, West Java), Kalikangkung (Semarang, Central Java), and Prambanan Toll Gate (Yogyakarta-Solo functional toll, Central Java).

“Overall, monitored through CCTV, it is busy but smooth. We continue to oversee this until it truly subsides, and the public is generally in their respective hometowns, celebrating Eid al-Fitr with their beloved families,” said AHY.

Furthermore, AHY stated that Operasi Ketupat, run through collaboration between Polri, Kemenko IPK, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Public Works, and related stakeholders such as Jasa Marga, aims to ensure that the journeys of travellers to various regions can proceed smoothly. This is because the busiest route is primarily towards Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java.

AHY hopes that all Eid exodus activities run well and that travellers can arrive at their destinations safely. “That is the most important and primary thing. Beyond that, we want to ensure that after Eid, the return flow can also be overseen together,” he said.
