“Future industries must be built responsibly and on a partnership basis,” AHY said in a written statement on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. In front of global business leaders, investors, diplomats, and international officials at the opening of the Ecosperity Week 2026 forum in Singapore, AHY highlighted Indonesia’s strategic position in the global green energy supply chain through nickel reserves, geothermal energy, and the development of the electric vehicle industry. According to AHY, downstream development of Indonesian industry is not merely an economic policy, but part of a strategy to strengthen national resilience and to build a future of clean energy. “Countries possessing materials important for the future should not remain passive suppliers in others’ supply chains,” he said. AHY also stressed Indonesia’s openness to global cooperation on fair and mutually beneficial terms. “We are ready to work with partners from North America, Europe, Asia, to the Global South, with the principle of shared benefits and respect for good standards,” he said.
