AHY stresses the Democratic Party must fight for the people through policies and laws

Democratic Party chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) stated that the party fights for the people not only through distributing sacrificial meat but also via policies. AHY stressed that the Democratic Party must champion public aspirations by creating policies and legislation that support the people. “The Democratic Party’s parliamentary faction fights for the people not only by distributing sacrificial meat, but by advocating for public aspirations through policies, laws, and other legislative products that support the people, the poor, the marginalised, and those in need,” AHY said at the Democratic Party’s central office in Jakarta on Wednesday (27 May 2026). He stressed that Democratic Party members must champion the less fortunate. “Hablum minallah is a personal responsibility. Hablum minannas is what we must build together. Solidarity, especially for those struggling with life, affected by disasters, or simply less fortunate, are our brothers and sisters who must be championed,” AHY said. “Our environment belongs to our children and future generations. Therefore, we must safeguard it to the best of our ability,” he added.
