AHY: Consolidation as the Primary Foundation for Building Party Strength
Party consolidation is a fundamental strategic step that we must oversee not only during regional congresses but at all times.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), the General Chairman of the Democrat Party, stressed the importance of comprehensive consolidation as the primary foundation for building party strength and achieving political victories.
“Party consolidation is a fundamental strategic step that we must oversee not only during Musda but at all times. The organisation will be healthy, ready, and capable of achieving success if it is solid, with effective leadership and party management that fosters a family atmosphere while remaining professional and competitive,” said AHY in his statement in Jakarta on Friday.
The statement was delivered by AHY virtually at the V Regional Congress (Musda) of the Democrat Party of South Sumatra Province, held at the Aryaduta Hotel in Palembang.
“I believe this is the spirit that we must uphold together. We must be solid internally. I am responsible at the national level, but at the provincial, district, sub-district, branch, and grassroots cadre levels, everyone must be in one line,” he said.
He also reminded that political struggle cannot be done instantaneously and urged cadres to be more actively present among the people.
“Winning the heart and mind of the people is a necessity. Go down to the community, do not wait for election years. Be present with solutions and empathy,” he said.
On that occasion, AHY also expressed appreciation to South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru for attending the V Musda of the Democrat Party.
The event was also attended by the Secretary General of the Democrat Party, Herman Khaeron, the Head of the party’s Strategic Communication Agency, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, First Secretary of the party’s BPOKK, Si Made Rai Edi Astawa, Second Secretary of the party’s BPOKK, M.P. Simanjuntak.
In addition, Deputy of BPOKK Rocky Amu and Panti Silaban, Deputy Secretary General of the Democrat Party Jemmy Setiawan, and Deputy Chairman Lasmi. Also present were the Chairman of the Democrat Party’s South Sumatra Provincial Board, Cik Ujang, along with his team, as well as the Chairmen of the Democrat Party’s District Boards throughout South Sumatra.
