AHY confirms 2027 budget ceiling focused on national priority infrastructure
The Budget Committee of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has approved a budget ceiling of Rp276.8 billion for the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development for the 2027 fiscal year, as part of a total ceiling of Rp3.1 trillion for seven coordinating ministries. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) confirmed that the budget will be focused on building national priority infrastructure that has a direct impact on the public, following a meeting at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (22/6). He explained that the priority programmes encompass food security, energy, clean water, connectivity, and housing, in order to promote equitable development across all regions. AHY emphasised his ministry’s commitment to ensuring that development proceeds on target and delivers real economic impact in the regions. ‘We, who coordinate five technical ministries as well as a number of other related agencies, are striving to ensure that the direction of national development is on track and has a direct impact on the community. So, we will prioritise aspects of basic infrastructure development that can, once again, ease the burden on the public while also making their lives more decent, including in the housing sector and general connectivity,’ he stated. To ensure the development process runs optimally, AHY said his party will continue to conduct direct monitoring and evaluation in the field.
