AHY Confident Democratic Party Can Be Relied Upon by Prabowo: We Will Work with Loyalty

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), has stated that President Prabowo Subianto can rely on the Democratic Party. AHY emphasised that the Democrats will remain loyal and trustworthy in ensuring the success of the administration.

This was conveyed by AHY during his speech before President Prabowo at the peak celebration of the Democratic Party’s 25th anniversary at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/9/2026). Initially, AHY touched upon military values regarding the importance of knowing who stands beside an individual when carrying out a mission.

“In military life, we recognise one value: that during a mission, we must know exactly who stands firmly by our side. Especially when any situation arises, in joy or in sorrow, we must know that person can still be relied upon,” said A_HY.

AHY asserted that Prabowo can rely on the Democratic Party to ensure the smooth running of the government. AHY also reaffirmed his commitment to being loyal and trustworthy to lead the Prabowo administration towards success.

“Allow me, Mr President, to convey sincerely that you can rely on the Democratic Party. We will work with loyalty, we will carry out our mandate with full responsibility, and we will continue to give our best to help this government succeed,” he stated.

AHY also noted that there is no contradiction between being loyal to the government and being faithful to the people. In his view, remaining faithful to the people while simultaneously seeking solutions to various problems is a form of responsible politics.

“Precisely because we want this government to succeed, we must continue to listen to the voice of the people and help find the solutions. That is responsible politics,” he expressed.

“As the President often reminds us, we must not be afraid of reality, but we must be brave enough to improve reality. This is what we also guide ourselves by and implement,” he added.
