AHY and the Minister of Transmigration Invite Young People to Develop Regions Through the Patriot Expedition

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara have invited young people to get involved in developing transmigration areas through the Patriot Expedition research and community service programme.

“The younger generation, in particular, is expected to be at the forefront because Indonesia needs our best talent and ideas,” said Coordinating Minister AHY in Jakarta on Sunday.

The invitation was made by AHY while attending the Patriot Move 2026 event, which was combined with a run involving participants of the Patriot Expedition during the Car Free Day event at Bundaran HI, Jakarta.

According to AHY, the Expedition or Transmigration Patriot programme is a strategic step by the Ministry of Transmigration in bringing together outstanding young people to help develop transmigration areas through research, innovation and direct service to local communities.

He explained that the participants come from various top universities in Indonesia who have a high spirit of community service and are ready to face challenges when deployed directly to transmigration areas far from their families.

According to him, students participating in the Patriot Expedition not only conduct research but also provide input to the government in developing transmigration areas from the economic, social and regional infrastructure development aspects.

He believes that many transmigration areas still need attention from the state so that economic growth can be evenly distributed so that the benefits of national development can be felt by communities in remote and underdeveloped areas of Indonesia.
