Ahmad Syahrul Fadhil Appointed PB PMII Secretary-General for 2026
The General Board of the Indonesian Islamic Students Movement (PB PMII) has officially refreshed its organisational structure. During a plenary session held on 27 May 2026, Ahmad Syahrul Fadhil was confirmed as the new Secretary-General (Sekjen) of PB PMII.
The strategic decision was made through a consensus-based consultation led by PB PMII Chairman M Shofiyulloh Cokro. This rotation is seen as an organisational refreshment effort to ensure institutional continuity and enrich ideas in facing contemporary challenges.
PB PMII Chairman M Shofiyulloh Cokro emphasised that leadership transitions are routine and periodic. He described this move as a step to maintain organisational dynamism while overseeing national agendas.
“The leadership rotation is a natural cycle to preserve organisational freshness. This step is taken solely to continue existing solid foundations while opening up broader collaboration opportunities,” said Shofiyulloh.
As the new Secretary-General, Ahmad Syahrul Fadhil now bears significant responsibility for managing central administration, maintaining internal consolidation, and strengthening organisational synergy from branch to national levels.
