Ahmad Muzani Reveals MPR is Ready to Continue and Expand LKBB-PB Scale in 2027
The Speaker of the MPR RI, Ahmad Muzani, has stated the MPR’s commitment to continuing and expanding the scale of the Drill and Flag Hoisting Competition (LKBB-PB) in the coming year, including increasing facility support and appreciation for participants.
“We hope this can be expanded, including the prizes. We will check the budget for 2027, but we will maintain this event,” Muzani added in his statement on Sunday (6/9/2026).
Muzani made these remarks while attending the closing ceremony and winner announcement for the 2026 National Level LKBB-PB at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday (5/9).
He emphasised that all finalists of the 2026 National Level LKBB-PB are true champions, as they will also carry the mandate of serving as the MPR’s Four Pillars Ambassadors in their respective regions.
Muzani expressed pride in the students who underwent a long, rigorous, and exhausting selection process from the beginning of the year to reach the Parliament Complex, which he referred to as the ‘House of the People’ and a source of national pride.
“As a competition, there must naturally be winners and recipients. Beyond that, for all of us who arrived this afternoon at the Senayan Building, essentially everyone is a winner,” Muzende said in a written statement.
Furthermore, he emphasised that the true essence of being a champion is not merely about trophies or judges’ scores, but a deep love for the country, the nation, the Red and White flag, Pancasila, and the constitution.
“Therefore, you are today the ambassadors of the MPR’s Four Pillars in your respective provinces. The heaviest burden is not merely carrying a trophy, but exemplifying and acting with a love for the country and defending the interests of the many above your own interests,” Muzani stated.
He also advised that this valuable experience should serve as a training ground for developing leadership skills in the younger generation. He motivated the participants, hoping that in the next ten to forty years, some of them would stand in his place to lead the nation.
“It is my prayer that the arrival of my younger brothers and children in this building is a good beginning to becoming future leaders of the nation,” Muzani messaged.
Muzani also urged the students to convey their respects to their schools and families upon returning to their home regions, and to enjoy the atmosphere of Jakarta before returning to their provinces with renewed national spirit.
Meanwhile, the Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI, Siti Fauziah, expressed appreciation for the high enthusiasm of the participants, which this year reached 30 provinces, including remote regencies.
She also evaluated this year’s implementation, which was a marathon event held in a single day, suggesting that the duration should be extended to two days in the future to prevent participant exhaustion.
“This year was maximal, but in the future, the competition time could be made two days because it was very much a marathon. Hopefully, in 2027, participants can cover all 38 provinces,” she said.
Siti also noted being impressed by the creativity of the participants, who managed to combine complex and interesting formations without deviating from standard ceremonial protocols. She noted that the primary goal of the competition has far exceeded trophies, serving instead as a platform for instilling national values and building cross-regional networks.
“My hope is that representatives from 30 provinces come to Jakarta not just to chase victory, but to instil the values of the MPR’s Four Pillars. The discipline and the meeting with peers from 29 other provinces can become a valuable friendship network for the participants’ future,” she concluded.
For the record, the 2026 National Level LKBB-PB MPR RI was won by SMK Negeri 2 Garut from West Java. Second place was achieved by SMA Negeri 1 Kendari from Southeast Sulawesi, while third place went to SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Bun from Central Kalimantan.
Additionally, the first runner-up was SMA Negeri 1 Gianyar from Bali, the second runner-up was SMA Negeri 99 Jakarta from DKI Jakarta, and the third runner-up was SMA Negeri 3 Langsa from Aceh.
