Ahmad Luthfi's Response Following KPK Arrest of Three Regional Heads

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has reminded regional heads to maintain their integrity. This statement was delivered by Ahmad Luthfi in response to an arrest made by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against Cilacap Regent Syamsul Aulia Rahman on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Syamsul was apprehended on suspicion of extortion concerning holiday allowances. “I have repeatedly emphasised and stressed this matter of integrity,” he stated in a written statement on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

Luthfi expressed respect for the legal process being conducted by the KPK. “This is a lesson for all of us public officials, particularly regents and mayors, to maintain strong integrity,” he said.

Cilacap Deputy Regent Ammy Amalia Fatma Surya has now assumed the position of acting regent in place of Syamsul. Both were nominated by the Justice Party, National Awakening Party, Golkar, Democratic Party, and Indonesian Solidarity Party in the Cilacap regional head election.

Previously, the KPK arrested Pati Regent Sudewo on 19 January 2026. Sudewo was suspected of extortion and sale of village official positions within Pati Regency.

The KPK subsequently arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq on 3 March 2026. The former dangdut dancer was apprehended on suspicion of corruption in procurement within the Pekalongan Regency Government.
