Ahmad Luthfi Urges Workers to Commemorate May Day with Constructive Activities

He admitted to having communicated with representatives of labour unions and workers a few days ago. Ahmad Luthfi wants the International Labour Day commemoration to run smoothly and conducive. This was stated by him after the Plenary Meeting at the Central Java DPRD Building today.

“Ahead of May Day, I have already (communicated). Yesterday, I met with labour unions and workers,” said Luthfi in a written statement on Thursday (30/4/2026).

Luthfi stated that he has embraced the workers in his region so that the Labour Day commemoration runs smoothly and orderly.

“We embrace our worker friends because order is one of the capitals in attracting investment,” he said.

Previously, Ahmad Luthfi had dialogued with representatives of worker unions and labour unions in Central Java. The dialogue was attended by around 78 worker unions and labour unions from various regions.

“For the May Day commemoration, let us hold constructive activities without diminishing the essence of May Day itself. That is by maintaining conducive industrial relations,” he said.

According to him, such constructive activities are very necessary to build good industrial relations between workers, companies, and the government. Especially in responding to the current global conditions that will indirectly affect the Central Java region.

“Conduciveness as well as guarantees of security and order in the region are one of the important requirements for investment. That is also what makes Central Java attractive to investors,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Java Employment and Transmigration Office, Ahmad Aziz, added that intensive communication has been conducted ahead of May Day. The May Day commemoration will mostly be carried out with dialogues, seminars, health walks, and other positive activities.

“We have coordinated and invited our worker friends that on May Day there will be many events organised in respective areas,” he concluded.
