Ahmad Luthfi Urges Central Java Residents to Strengthen Unity During Eid
Luthfi arrived at the location around 06:15 WIB with his youngest son, Mohammad Alif Daffa. Wearing a white shirt and black peci, he walked to the site while pushing Daffa’s wheelchair. The two then took their places in the front row.
Eid al-Fitr prayers began around 06:30 WIB. The prayer was led by KH Zaenuri Ahmad, the imam of the Raya Baiturrahman Mosque and the Grand Mosque of Central Java, as well as the caretaker of the Nurul Qur’ani Islamic Boarding School. The khatib for the prayers was Saiful Mujab, Head of the Central Java Ministry of Religious Affairs Office.
After the prayers and sermon, Luthfi greeted the residents. He also accommodated members of the public who wished to shake hands and take photos with him.
“Today we are celebrating Eid 1447 H. Happy Eid al-Fitr; with fitri, we return to purity, and we must look to the future with optimism through unity and solidarity,” Luthfi said in a written statement on Saturday (21/3/2026).
He stated that Eid serves as a collective moment of reflection to purify oneself and return to one’s innate nature. According to him, all elements of society need to maintain unity and solidarity to develop Central Java and Indonesia.
“Of course, by caring for one another, because building a region requires collaboration and mutual care, without envy, jealousy, or division,” he said.
In addition to Ahmad Luthfi, Central Java’s Secretary Sumarno, along with his wife and several members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, also performed Eid al-Fitr prayers at Simpanglima Field.
Based on initial observations, Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Central Java proceeded safely, orderly, and conducive. No significant incidents have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, during the homecoming traffic, more than 1.3 million vehicles entered Central Java. Approximately 700,000 vehicles exited Central Java. This figure represents an increase compared to Eid 2025.
“The homecoming traffic has concluded; we have prepared services for the return journey. Please rest at rest areas to avoid fatigue. Feel free to tour and shop at MSMEs in Central Java,” he explained. (akd/ega)
