Ahmad Luthfi Responds to Protests Over Damaged Randublatung-Cepu Road; Central Java Budget to be Revised

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi has stated that there will be revisions to the 2026 Central Java Regional Budget (APBD). These revisions will include budget adjustments for the repair of several provincial road sections, including the Randublatlagung-Cepu road, which recently went viral after residents protested its dilapidated condition.

Luthfi noted that the mechanism for repairing the Randublatung-Cepu road has already commenced. “In fact, in September, we will implement changes regarding the revised budget. For roads that have not been adequately addressed, we will maximise our efforts,” he said during an interview at the Gumaya Hotel, Semarang, on Thursday (4/6/2026).

He added that, in addition to the Randublatung-Cepu road, several other provincial road sections will be prioritised for repair. “Therefore, in the revised budget, we will adjust various programme allocations and others to redirect them towards road revitalisation,” Luthfi explained.

Regarding the protest by residents living near the Randublatung-Cepu road, who planted banana trees in potholes, Luthfi confirmed that the trees have since been removed. “The banana trees are no longer there,” he said.

He further disclosed that in 2025, Blora Regency received a road repair budget of IDR 75 billion, consisting of IDR 45 billion for provincial roads and IDR 30 billion for regency/city roads. “If potholes still persist, we must undertake reconstruction,” Luthfi added.

Luthfi admitted that he has held meetings with his subordinates to identify road sections damaged following the rainy season. “Our departments are meeting to re-examine which roads have not reached a stable condition or are heavily damaged. We must resolve these issues,” he concluded.
