The handover of the houses represents a collaboration between the provincial and district governments in ensuring the safety of residents, particularly those of Bawang Hamlet, Aribaya Village, who had spent years living in anxiety whilst awaiting relocation.

“Happy or not? Do you still remember your old homes? No need to remember them because they can no longer be used and are dangerous. What matters is that for this fasting month and Eid, you will be living in new homes, free of charge. May this be a blessing for all of us,” said Luthfi in a written statement on Monday (23/2/2026).

He noted that Central Java has many areas prone to natural disasters, a matter that must be addressed collectively by all relevant stakeholders. He stressed that he does not want disaster response and post-disaster handling to be carried out haphazardly, but rather comprehensively, so that affected communities can recover.

“This is important. There must be cooperation and collaboration, including in the approach to resolution, so that communities feel they are not being abandoned. The relevant officials must be present,” he said.

Furthermore, the delivery of the 36 permanent housing units was made possible through collaboration from various parties. Banjarnegara District Government prepared funds and designated the relocation land, the Central Java Provincial Government provided assistance to construct the houses, and the National Land Agency (BPN) prepared the land certificates.

“So make the most of these homes for your future,” Luthfi urged.

The 36 housing units were built using Ruspin technology. The advantages of Ruspin technology include earthquake resistance, rapid construction, greater economic efficiency, and flexibility combined with structural strength.

“On behalf of the community, we thank the Governor and the Central Java Provincial Government. Initially the process took quite long, having started in 2022, but under Governor Ahmad Luthfi it was accelerated and the keys have now been handed over to residents,” said Banjarnegara Regent Amalia Desiana.

Additionally, Amalia confirmed that going forward, a number of public facilities will still need to be completed, including road access, a prayer hall, electrical installations, and clean water supply. The prayer hall will shortly be constructed with assistance from the local National Zakat Agency (Baznas).

“Once the keys and certificates have been given, the homes can be occupied. The total number of relocations in Banjarnegara is 80, and this final batch comprises 36 units,” she said.

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, Yanto, expressed his delight at receiving permanent housing at the new location. Seeing his new home, which is of better quality, he could not stop expressing gratitude.

“Thank you so much for the assistance. Before moving here, our old house was on the verge of collapse. It could no longer be lived in. The house here is much better, and we received the certificate straight away. I am very happy,” he said.
