Ahmad Luthfi Dispatches 325 Free Buses for Central Java Residents' Homecoming during Eid Celebration from TMII
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi dispatched participants in the 2026 free Eid homecoming (mudik Lebaran gratis) at the Museum Purna Bhakti Pertiwi, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta.
Monitoring by detikcom at the location on Monday, 16 March 2026, the dispatch of homebound travellers was conducted by Luthfi at 10:00 WIB. The dispatch took place with the flag-off ceremony for the 2026 free Eid homecoming.
“With the invocation of ‘Bismillahirrahmanirrahim’, may these 325 free Eid homecoming buses reach Central Java safely,” Luthfi said whilst dispatching participants in the 2026 Eid homecoming at the Museum Purna Bhakti Pertiwi, TMII, East Jakarta.
Luthfi stated that the Central Java Provincial Government, together with Bank Jateng and several institutions, had prepared 325 buses free of charge. He said the buses would transport homebound travellers to various cities and districts throughout Central Java.
“Today we are conducting the free homecoming programme of the Central Java Provincial Government, participated in by 35 city and district administrations, assisted by Baznas, Bank Jateng, and including Aqua,” said Luthfi.
“This is a collaboration where our homecoming programme represents the state’s effort to facilitate and accelerate the movement of people,” he added.
He explained that the homecoming participants are Central Java residents who are informal workers in the Greater Jakarta area. He hopes the programme will help Central Java residents gather with their families during Eid.
“On average, these 325 buses carry informal workers earning below 5 million rupiah, 2 million rupiah; food vendors, motorcycle taxi drivers, domestic helpers, and they are very pleased that their journey home is free, and their return journey is free,” said Luthfi.
“This is our expression as the provincial government and representative of district and city administrations to extend our gratitude for this cooperation, which will certainly improve the economic development in their respective regions,” he concluded.
