“For anyone who gives blood to those in need, this is a form of charity, given with sincerity,” Luthfi stated in a written statement on Tuesday (29/09/2026).

Luthfi noted that the consistency of these donors demonstrates strong humanitarian values in supporting public health in Central Java. According to him, the social mission of the donors extends beyond the act of blood donation, providing benefits to families and the wider community.

He expressed hope that such care will continue to grow and inspire others in society. Luthfi also extended his congratulations and thanks to donors who have reached milestones of 50 and 75 donations. During the event, 2,347 donors received awards, consisting of 1,742 individuals who have reached 50 donations and 605 individuals who have reached 75 donations.

Luthfi emphasised that the data collection for voluntary blood donors must be improved and verified so that no member of the public who has repeatedly donated blood is overlooked in the records. This follows feedback from a donor from Purworejo who has donated blood more than 130 times since 1980, yet the full extent of their contributions has not been entirely captured in the data.

“There must not be any instance where a person’s donation data is missed, even if it is voluntary,” he concluded.

As of June 2026, the total production of all PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) Blood Donor Units (UDD) in Central Java was recorded at approximately 17,000 blood bags per month. During this period, blood availability was declared sufficient to meet public needs. The blood donated by these individuals is managed through the Blood Donor Units to meet the requirements of patients in need of transfusions.
