AHM Projects 100 Percent Hotel Occupancy in Mataram for June-July
Hotel room occupancy rates in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), are projected to surge to 100 per cent in June-July 2026. In addition to the school holiday factor, the rise in hotel occupancy is also triggered by the NTB Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) event. “The occupancy potential from Porprov could reach 100 per cent,” said Mataram Hotel Association (AHM) Chairman Made Adiyasa on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Based on information obtained by AHM, four-star and five-star hotel facilities in Mataram are still insufficient to accommodate all Porprov NTB participants. Nonetheless, three-star to non-star hotels will be prioritised as accommodation for the athletes and Porprov participants. “Meanwhile, four- to five-star hotel facilities are being prepared to accommodate the officials and event committee,” said Adiyasa. “So in mid- to late June-July we will have a bumper harvest in Mataram,” he continued. On the other hand, AHM stated that the current weakening of the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar is not having a significant impact on the hospitality industry in Mataram. This is because the market segment is still dominated by domestic tourists and meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition (MICE) activities. Previously, the NTB Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the room occupancy rate (TPK) for star-rated hotels in NTB in April 2026 experienced a surge of 36.06 per cent, up 4.79 points compared to the March 2026 TPK of 31.26 per cent. “The number of guests staying in star-rated hotels in April 2026 was recorded at 98,077 people, consisting of 62,711 domestic guests or 63.94 per cent and 35,366 foreign guests or about 36.06 per cent,” said NTB BPS Head Wahyudin previously. Meanwhile, the number of guests staying in non-star hotels and other accommodations in April 2026 reached 140,284 people, consisting of 80,746 domestic guests (57.56 per cent) and 59,538 foreign guests (42.44 per cent).
