JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Amid the surge of short video trends on social media, the Astra Honda Motor Foundation is introducing a fresh approach to road safety campaigns. This time, safety riding education is presented through language and communication styles typical of the younger generation via the Safety Riding Short Movie Contest 2026 (SMC 2026). Through this theme, the AHM Foundation aims to encourage young people to see road safety as crucial to achieving their future dreams. The campaign aligns with current content consumption trends, where short videos on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube are part of daily life for the youth. The competition has two categories: a three-minute short film and a 60-second creative social media video. Participants are free to express creative ideas using communication styles that resonate with young people’s daily lives. ‘Through this contest, we want to provide a platform for young people to share their perspectives and positive messages on road safety in a relevant way,’ said Muhib in a statement on Monday (25 May 2026). All entries can be uploaded via Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Judging will be based on storytelling creativity, originality of ideas, message strength, and visual and editing quality. The AHM Foundation has also prepared prize money worth tens of millions of rupiah for the best entries that effectively convey road safety messages.
