As the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage approaches, officers from Brebes Regency, Central Java, have conducted a survey of tent locations in Arafat (No 58) and Mina (Zone 5) together with the designated Hajj organizers. The survey was carried out to finalize preparations for the pilgrims’ tents.

This was conveyed by Azmi Asmuni Majid, an officer from Brebes Regency, directly from Mecca, on Saturday evening (May 16, 2026).

“The survey was conducted to ensure that the tent capacity is sufficient and that it is equipped with a list of names for each group to facilitate pilgrim placement,” said Azmi Majid.

Azmi Majid stated that the tents for Indonesian pilgrims are equipped with air conditioning, mattresses, pillows, and blankets for comfort during the Wuquf. “This includes ensuring an adequate supply of water for toilets and ablution areas. The tents are also equipped with special toilets for elderly pilgrims,” explained Azmi Majid.

Azmi Majid also reported on the condition of the pilgrims, stating that Mubarokatul Adawiyah, who had been treated at the King Abdul Aziz Clinic for a week, has returned to her hotel as her health is improving. “However, Siska is still being treated at Al Noor Specialist Hospital in Mecca for more than a week. And another pilgrim, Masjuki, was admitted to Al Noor Specialist Hospital on May 16 at 01:10 WAS for treatment of heart problems and chest pain,” explained Azmi Majid.

According to Azmi Majid, pilgrims are generally able to perform prayers at the Grand Mosque and in their hotels. Some pilgrims have also performed Umrah independently or with Hajj guidance groups (KBIH).

“We officers always maintain communication with pilgrims who perform Umrah. There are indeed some pilgrims who experience minor illnesses but can be treated by the team,” he explained.

Azmi Majid added that they are also collaborating with the KBIH to monitor pilgrim consumption, conduct visits, and provide examinations for those in need. “Education on drinking water and maintaining health, as well as fostering togetherness during the Umrah rituals, is also being promoted to reduce the incidence of dangerous dehydration, especially for the elderly, and to avoid the potential for pilgrims getting lost. This includes education about the importance of Nusuk (the official platform from the Saudi Arabian government), which serves as an identity for Hajj,” he concluded.

The DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team has requested that the Ministry of Religious Affairs immediately report on the scheme for pilgrim movement in Armuzna, including the readiness of the Murur and Tanazul schemes for the elderly.

The Chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, Marwan Dasopang, stated that Saudi Arabia has given Indonesia an ultimatum to immediately determine the area in Arafat for Hajj; otherwise, it will be allocated to another country.

Pilgrims have completed the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage in Arafat. Since Friday morning at around 09:00 Arab Standard Time, pilgrims have also left Muzdalifah and moved to Mina.

In anticipation of the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, monitoring by the DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team revealed inconsistencies in the provision of transportation services for pilgrims to Arafat.

Other prohibitions that pilgrims must observe include not picking grass, breaking tree branches, killing mosquitoes, and other similar actions while in a state of ihram.

10th of Dzulhijjah is a crucial time due to the high concentration of pilgrims who will perform the stoning ritual.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has expressed its apologies for several challenges during the peak of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage in Armuzna (Arafah, Muzdalifah, Mina). These challenges include the evacuation of pilgrims from Muzdalifah to Mina.

The Saudi Arabian Hajj organizers finally released some pilgrims but reminded elderly and at-risk pilgrims to remain in Muzdalifah, awaiting bus transportation.

The journey from Muzdalifah to Mina covers a distance of about 5 km. The total distance traveled by Hajj pilgrims on foot for the series of rituals reaches approximately 33.65 km.
