Ahead of SPMB Verification Deadline, Parents Urged to Recheck Document Completeness
The stages of the New Student Admission System (SPMB) for SMA and SMK Negeri levels are entering a crucial phase as the deadline for data verification and validation approaches. Prospective students and parents are requested to ensure that all data entered on the registration website is complete.
‘I urge all prospective students and parents to immediately ensure that all required documents have been correctly verified before entering the registration stages for each respective track,’ said the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, in Surabaya on Sunday (7/6).
The Governor noted that verification and validation processes in several schools across Surabaya, Gresik, Ngawi, and Madiun are proceeding well. This stage is vital to ensure that online data matches the physical hardcopy documents held by students, allowing the selection process to remain fair, transparent, and accountable.
Khofifah explained that the verification and validation stage serves as the foundation for ensuring the accuracy of the digital input against original documents. She emphasised that accuracy and precision must be maintained so that all participants have an equal opportunity in the selection process.
According to the official schedule for the East Java SPMB 2026/2027 academic year, the independent collection of PINs by prospective students continues until 9 June 2026, while the verification and validation of data and documents is scheduled to conclude on 10 June 2026.
Khofifah also reminded the public to closely monitor all established schedules and regulations to avoid obstacles during the registration process. ‘Ensure all documents are verified and valid so that the registration process for each track can proceed smoothly,’ she advised.
Furthermore, Khofifah emphasised that the East Java SPMB system has been designed to be open, allowing the public to monitor every stage and the final selection results transparently. ‘The public will be able to see openly how the selection process is conducted. Report card scores carry a weight of 60%, while the Academic Ability Test (TKA) accounts for 40%. All components are monitorable, allowing the public to see the entire process,’ she stated.
In related news, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that 28% of new student admission processes are still marred by illegal levies. Circular Letter Number 7 of 202lar was issued to prevent corruption in schools. The SPMB system is now integrated with the ‘Cek In Warga’ database, allowing the government to verify residential addresses listed in identity documents. Through this system, citizens no longer need to visit offices physically just to obtain an SPMB queue number.
Additionally, the Padang City Government, through the Department of Education and Culture, has officially set the SPMB schedule for the 2026/2027 academic year, while the Banyumas Regency Government in Central Java has declared its readiness for the SMP-level SPMB implementation for the same period.
