Ahead of School Holidays, Jasa Marga Intensifies Routine Toll Road Preservation
Anticipating a surge in road users during the school holiday period, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk is intensifying its routine and preventive preservation programmes across all toll road sections managed by the company.
As Indonesia’s largest toll road operator, Jasa Marga consistently ensures that the condition of its managed road pavements meets the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) to enhance travel smoothness, safety, and comfort.
Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono stated that consistent toll road infrastructure maintenance is the fundamental pillar of reliable and sustainable service. This routine preservation is conducted to ensure the safety of road users.
Degradation of road pavement conditions can be influenced by various external factors, such as high rainfall intensity and the burden of Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) heavy vehicles.
“Through a well-planned road preservation programme, we ensure that the quality of the toll roads remains prime so that the public can travel more safely and comfortably, especially ahead of the upcoming school holiday period,” Rivan said in a written statement on Thursday (18/6/2026).
Through its subsidiary, PT Jasamarga Tollroad Maintenance (JMTM), Jasa Marga manages routine preservation programmes that include increasing toll gate capacity, constructing and installing Median Concrete Barriers (MCB), renovating toll gates and plazas, Scrapping, Filling, and Overlay (SFO) works, as well as patching and maintaining toll road surfaces. In addition to routine maintenance, preventive preservation strategies are prioritised to extend the lifespan of the toll roads and prevent potholes at an early stage.
“Every potential damage is targeted to be handled within a maximum of 2x24 hours once identified, supported by the 24-hour readiness of operational officers across all Jasa Marga Group toll sections,” he explained.
In June 2026, Jasa Marga is conducting massive preservation activities on several toll sections, including the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek), Jakarta-Tangerang (Janger), Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang (Cipularang), Padalarang-Cileunyi (Padaleunyi), and the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR). This step is taken to maintain pavement quality and ensure optimal road conditions to serve public mobility, particularly ahead of the school holidays.
“The accuracy and speed of field identification are also supported by the implementation of modern technology. We operate special inspection vehicles, the Smart Car Vehicle Hawkeye 2000, which can precisely scan lane cracks. The scanning data is directly integrated with artificial intelligence technology at the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Centre (JMTC) to accelerate tactical decision-making by field teams,” Rivan explained.
All preservation works are carried out with priority given to road user safety and maintaining smooth traffic flow. Therefore, the majority of preservation activities are scheduled from night to early morning when vehicle volume is relatively lower.
Jasa Marga routinely updates preservation work schedules and locations in real-time through the Travoy application and Jasa Marga Group’s official social media accounts. Additionally, Jasa Marga provides information on preservation works through the One Call Centre 133 service.
This information allows road users to obtain the latest traffic condition updates and determine more optimal alternative routes to avoid potential congestion during preservation works.
“We greatly appreciate and thank road users who have been active in reporting infrastructure conditions along their journeys, as this additional information is very valuable to us. We also continue to provide space for road users to be actively involved in maintaining road quality,” he explained.
Through synergy between measured infrastructure maintenance, the use of digital technology, and the active involvement of road users, Jasa Marga is committed to continuously providing the best service standards to realise safe, comfortable, and secure connectivity in Indonesia.
“If you encounter any issues during your journey, the public can report them directly via the ‘Chat Us’ feature on the Travoy application or by contacting the One Call Centre 133. Every report received will be immediately forwarded to field officers for prompt follow-up,” Rivan concluded.
