Ahead of Ramadan, Pertamina Distributes Over One Million Additional 3-Kilogram LPG Cylinders in Central Java and Yogyakarta
SEMARANG — Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java (JBT) is distributing an additional 1.1 million 3-kilogram LPG cylinders, equivalent to 3,544 metric tonnes, across Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
The supplementary supply began distribution on 17 February 2026 to ensure the public’s energy needs are met in the lead-up to and during Ramadan.
Of the total additional allocation, 144,000 cylinders have been earmarked for DIY, whilst more than one million cylinders are being distributed across Central Java. The volume represents an increase of over 75 per cent above normal daily distribution levels.
The Solo Raya area received the largest allocation of additional 3-kilogram LPG in Central Java ahead of Ramadan 2026, with 253,320 cylinders, followed by Greater Semarang with 236,440 cylinders. At the municipal level, the City of Semarang recorded the highest allocation at 79,120 cylinders, whilst the City of Magelang received the smallest addition at 6,480 cylinders.
Taufiq Kurniawan, Area Manager for Communication, Relations and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java, said the company continues to ensure supply reliability right down to the distribution level that interfaces directly with consumers. “We are ensuring that this discretionary additional supply can maintain stock reliability in the field, particularly at the depot level, so that the public need not worry about the availability of 3-kilogram LPG during Ramadan,” Taufiq said on Monday (16 February 2026).
In support of the government’s LPG subsidy programme, Pertamina urged households with sufficient means to use non-subsidised LPG so that the subsidy distribution remains on target.
Pertamina also encouraged the public to purchase 3-kilogram LPG products from official Pertamina depots, where stock availability is guaranteed and prices comply with government regulations, with the Maximum Retail Price (HET) set at the lowest threshold of Rp 18,000. The nearest depot locations can be accessed via the subsiditepatlpg.mypertamina.id platform.
