Ahead of Persib vs Persijap, PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung Bans Supporter Attire on Trains
Ahead of the decisive final week clash in the 2025/2026 Super League between Persib Bandung and Persijap Jepara, scheduled for Saturday 23 May, PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung has issued a strict policy. Rail passengers are prohibited from wearing any football club attire, whether in the station precinct or inside train carriages. The measure is intended as a preventive step to maintain calm and prevent potential clashes between fans. Kuswardojo, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, stressed that the rule applies to all club-identifying gear, from jerseys and scarves to other accessories.
=“We urge all passengers to help safeguard security, order, and comfort. Therefore, passengers are advised not to wear football club attire to keep the journey atmosphere conducive,” Kuswardojo said in Bandung on Friday 22 May.
In addition to the clothing ban, PT KAI Daop 2 also issued a special warning regarding potential traffic congestion in Bandung. Given that the match could decide the championship for Persib Bandung, a surge in activity is expected on Saturday 23 May and Sunday 24 May.
Prospective passengers departing from Bandung Station or Kiaracondong Station are advised to arrive earlier to avoid the risk of missing trains due to congestion on roads toward the stations.
KAI said train services would run normally and on time. To support this, intensive coordination with security authorities has been undertaken to monitor crowded areas around station environs.
“Matchday and celebrations of Persib’s title bid around Bandung will heighten street activity. We urge people to remain vigilant for increased traffic on several routes toward the city centre,” Kuswardojo added.
Residents are asked to comply with these rules to ensure smooth public transport amid the national football fever currently peaking in West Java.
