Ahead of Persib Match, Legislator Tedy Rusmawan Urges Optimisation of Gedebage Toll Access
Tedy Rusmawan, a member of the West Java Provincial DPRD representing the Bandung-Cimahi constituency, has raised concerns regarding traffic congestion in the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium area. This issue has become a priority ahead of the upcoming 2026/2027 Liga 1 competition.
Tedy voiced these concerns through an interruption during a West Java DPRD plenary session on Friday (5/9/2026). He requested that the West Java Provincial Government take concrete steps to anticipate traffic density, particularly when Persib Bandung plays home matches at the GBLA Stadium.
The PKS legislator noted that Liga 1 is set to commence on Sunday (6/9/2026), with Persib scheduled to use GBLA Stadium as one of its venues. He stated that traffic congestion in the stadium area is a frequent complaint from the public.
“We propose that the West Java Provincial Government sends letters to the Ministry of Public Works, the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), and Jasa Marga,” Tedy said during his interruption.
One of the proposals is to reopen the Padaleunyi Toll access at KM 151. Tedy mentioned that this access is already available and has been utilised during specific periods, including December 2024 and Christmas 2025.
He argued that these existing facilities should be optimised to help alleviate vehicle density heading towards the GBLA area.
In addition to KM 151, Tedy also requested that the operation of the Padaleunyi Toll access at KM 149 be optimised. He highlighted that its current operating hours are limited to 06:00 to 10:00, whereas Persib matches frequently take place in the evening.
“We know that Persib often plays at night, between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Hopefully, the letter sent by the West Java Provincial Government can specifically address the congestion at GBLA,” he said.
Responding to the proposal, West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan stated that the provincial government would first require a formal letter from PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat or the match organising committee as a basis for submitting requests to the central government.
Erwan noted that reopening the KM 151 access requires further study because its location is very close to the stadium entrance. Furthermore, there are currently several security checkpoints for spectators entering the GBLA area.
“The KM 151 toll access is very close to the stadium entrance. This could cause congestion and make security checks difficult,” Erton said.
Consequently, Erwan suggested the possibility of optimising the KM 149 toll access by extending its operating hours into the night, particularly during Persib matches.
“We will likely maximise the KM 149 access; it might not extend until 10:00 PM, but the hours can be increased,” he added.
Erwan emphasised that these steps will be further coordinated with PT Persib or the organising committee before the West Java Provincial Government formally writes to the Ministry of Public Works and the BPJT.
