Ahead of Peak Return Flow, 239,000 Vehicles Head to Jakarta
PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded 239,383 vehicles passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate towards Jakarta. This movement occurred during the Eid al-Fitr 1447H return flow period, from H-day to H+3, or 21–24 March 2026.
The volume represents an increase of 108.44 per cent compared to normal traffic of 114,843 vehicles.
JTT Corporate Secretary & Legal Director Ria Marlinda Paallo stated that the upward trend was also evident over a longer period. From H-10 to H+3, 415,448 vehicles were recorded from the eastern Trans Java region.
“Based on traffic data for the period H-10 to H+3 (11-24 March 2026), a total of 415,448 vehicles from the eastern Trans Java region were recorded, an increase of 6.45 per cent from normal traffic of 390,288 vehicles,” said Ria in an official statement on Wednesday night (25/3/2026).
This situation indicates that the return flow is still ongoing. Vehicle volumes are expected to continue rising.
JTT, in collaboration with the police, is implementing traffic engineering. A situational one-way scheme is being enforced.
“In line with these conditions, JTT and the police have implemented a one-way scheme in segments from KM 263 of the Pejagan-Pemalang Toll Road to KM 70 of the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road,” she said.
“Open-close measures are also being applied situationally for the local one-way from KM 425+800 of the Semarang Sections A, B, C Toll Road to KM 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to maintain smooth vehicle flow and minimise potential congestion along the Trans Java Toll Road sections,” Ria added.
A 23 per cent discount is also in effect on the Batang–Semarang section from 12 March to 31 March 2026.
“This is expected to help distribute traffic more evenly while providing direct benefits to road users,” Ria explained.
