JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Electric vehicle manufacturer Omoway is preparing to enter the Indonesian automotive market with the launch of its debut model, Omo-X, in June 2026. Ahead of this launch, Omoway claims to be focusing more on building business foundations and after-sales services rather than chasing sales figures. General Manager of Omoway Indonesia, Yulong Chen, stated that the company is currently prioritising the development of sales networks, service centres, and charging infrastructure to ensure consumers feel secure. “We want to first build our name and trust from users,” he said. According to Chen, strengthening the company’s internal aspects is an important step for building a long-term business in Indonesia. “We must first be strong from the inside. We also see it for the long term, because we are here not just to sell for one or two years,” he added. He further noted that the quality of human resources is also a primary concern for the company, both in terms of after-sales services and sales personnel. To support the Omo-X launch, Omoway is also beginning to expand its dealer network in various regions. This year, the company will focus on strengthening the network in Java and Bali, while still opening service points in other areas. “For dealers, this year we are focusing more on Java and Bali. But on other islands, we are still building them too. For example, in Bogor, Depok, Jakarta, Tangerang, Sukabumi, Bandung, there are dealers,” he said. Chen explained that the presence of dealers, service centres, and charging stations spread across areas is an important factor in increasing consumer trust in electric vehicles. Omoway previously introduced Omo-X as a premium electric motorcycle with a futuristic design and modern features. The arrival of this model also marks Omoway’s initial step to compete in Indonesia’s increasingly crowded electric vehicle market filled with new players.
