Ahead of National Children's Day, Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Pushes Strengthening of Disability Inclusion Spaces
Through the SAPA Visit ahead of National Children’s Day, the Ministry of Women’s Empowerness and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) is encouraging stronger cross-sector collaboration to create a safe, inclusive and child-friendly environment.
PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk (Alfamidi), together with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA), greeted hundreds of children with disabilities at the SAPA Visit event held at the Cahaya Batin Social Institution in Jakarta on Saturday (18/7/2026).
The event was organised ahead of the commemoration of National Children’s Day 2026. Alfamidi’s support for the event also helped strengthen the presence of inclusive spaces in Indonesia.
Minister of Women’s Empowerness and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi invited the government, the business community, society and families to strengthen collaboration in fulfilling the rights of and providing protection to every child.
“Let us use this momentum to love, protect and fulfil the rights of every child even more. Children are the future of the nation, and we must support them so they can achieve their dreams,” said the Minister.
Alfamidi’s Corporate Communication Manager, Retriantina Marhendra, said the company was proud to be part of the SAPA Visit at the Cahaya Batin Social Institution for the Visually Impaired, an initiative of KemenPPPA.
Alfamidi has demonstrated its commitment to inclusion not only through various activities but also through its Alfability programme, which was launched in 2012. Alfamidi has employed 344 workers with disabilities, exceeding the minimum requirement of one per cent stipulated in Law No. 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities.
“Ahead of National Children’s Day, we want to invite every child to keep dreaming. The future is not determined by limitations, but by spirit, courage and the determination to keep learning,” said Retriantina.
Through the Alfability programme, Alfamidi continues to create inclusive spaces by opening up employment opportunities for people with disabilities, encouraging workers who remain confident and productive.
Muhammad Shofha, a resident of the Cahaya Batin Social Institution, said he was delighted to take part in the event. He hopes to find work after finishing school and encouraged other people with disabilities never to give up whatever their circumstances.
As a form of support, Alfamidi handed over 100 goodie bags and staple food packages to the children with disabilities in attendance. Through this collaboration, Alfamidi is supporting Indonesian children to grow and thrive.
