Bandung – West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said he would soon suspend operations for tukang becak, angkot and delman for one week ahead of the mudik and balik Lebaran. They will receive compensation from the West Java provincial government during the non-operational period.

‘I’ve reported to the police chief; along all mudik routes where angkot, tukang becak, andong and delman operate, and there are various other livelihoods that people rely on to earn a living, they will be furloughed for a week before Lebaran, and after Lebaran we will decide on those areas to be exempt from operation,’ he said recently.

He said during the week they would receive pocket money as a holiday allowance. It is hoped that there will be no congestion on the roads in West Java. In addition, the people traveling through West Java will be calm, comfortable and not disturbed on the roads. He also ensured that the traversed roads would be smooth.
