Ahead of Lebaran, KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto Offers Discounts for Mudik Travellers
During the Lebaran mudik transport period, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI) Daerah Operasi (Daop) 5 Purwokerto launched a special promo titled Ramadan Festive 2026. The programme offers discounted train tickets for the public wishing to travel at a more affordable cost.
Public Relations Manager M As’ad Habibuddin said the promo is a form of appreciation to customers and also provides an opportunity for the public to plan their mudik journeys at affordable prices.
“Through the Ramadan Festive programme we present a range of enticing promos so that customers can plan their mudik journeys at more affordable prices,” he said.
In the programme, KAI offers two types of promo: Mudik Promotion with a 30 percent discount and Flash Sale with special ticket tariffs. “In the 30 percent Mudik Promo, customers can obtain a discount for ticket bookings that go on sale on 9 March 2026. The promo applies to departures between 9 and 20 March 2026 on several Daop 5 Purwokerto routes,” he explained.
Some trains that receive discount include KA Cakrabuana on the Purwokerto–Gambir route, KA Kertanegara on Purwokerto–Malang, KA Sawunggalih on Kutoarjo–Pasarsenen, KA Kutojaya Utara on Kutoarjo–Pasarsenen, KA Sancaka Utara on Cilacap–Surabaya Pasarturi, and KA Purwojaya on Cilacap–Gambir.
“In addition to the regular discount, KAI is also offering a Flash Sale with ultra-cheap fares accessible only via the Access by KAI app. This promo runs on 9 March 2026 from 16:30 to 17:30 WIB.
During the Flash Sale, customers can obtain tickets at special prices: Rp600,000 for the Panoramic class, Rp300,000 for Executive, and Rp150,000 for Economy. Tickets are valid for departures from 9 to 20 March 2026. The Flash Sale also covers the resort trains operated by KAI Wisata, such as Priority, Imperial, and Panoramic classes with travel periods from 11 to 20 March 2026.
As’ad urged the public to take advantage of the promo to plan trips earlier, particularly ahead of Lebaran when passenger numbers typically rise.
As of Saturday afternoon, 7 March, KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto had recorded Lebaran-ticket sales of 150,836, around 58 percent of the total capacity of 258,192 tickets. “We urge the public to plan their travel and book tickets early to secure the desired schedule,” he said.
He hopes the Ramadan Festive promo can help people enjoy a more comfortable and affordable train journey during the Lebaran period. “Take advantage of this opportunity to plan a more enjoyable mudik with KAI,” he concluded.
