Ahead of Independence Day, PLN UID Yogyakarta Realises Power Upgrades for 1,273 Customers
PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Yogyakarta has successfully realised power capacity upgrades for 1,273 customers through the ‘Semangat Baru Makin Berdaya’ promotional programme, which ran from 14 to 27 July 2026. The achievement demonstrates strong public enthusiasm for utilising the programme, which was designed to support increasing electricity needs while enlivening the lead-up to Indonesia’s Independence Day.
Of the total 1,273 customers who benefited from the promotion, 1,105 were from the household segment, 103 from the business and MSME segment, 59 from the social tariff segment—including houses of worship, orphanages, schools, and social foundations—and six from the government segment.
The success was an accumulation of achievements across all Customer Service Implementation Units (UP3) within PLN UID Yogyakarta. PLN UP3 Sedayu realised connections for 442 customers, comprising 374 households, 44 businesses and MSMEs, 23 social tariff customers, and one government segment customer. Meanwhile, PLN UP3 Yogyakarta and Wonosari together realised connections for 441 customers, consisting of 374 households, 41 businesses and MSMEs, 21 social tariff customers, and five government segment customers. PLN UP3 Sleman recorded connections for 390 customers, including 357 households, 18 businesses and MSMEs, and 15 social tariff customers.
General Manager of PLN UID Yogyakarta, Deri Prasetio Utomo, stated that the programme’s success reflects growing public trust in PLN’s services and indicates that the need for reliable electricity continues to rise across various sectors. He noted that the strong enthusiasm from different customer segments shows that electricity demand is evolving alongside increased household activities, business operations, and social and governmental functions. He affirmed PLN’s commitment to maintaining reliable electricity supply while delivering programmes that provide tangible benefits to customers.
Deri added that the digital service transformation through the PLN Mobile application remains a key pillar in improving access to electricity services, allowing customers to apply for power upgrades practically without visiting a service office. He expressed hope that PLN’s innovations would support public productivity and strengthen regional economic growth.
The ‘Semangat Baru Makin Berdaya’ promotion offered a 50% discount on power upgrade fees, enabling customers to increase their electricity capacity at a more affordable cost. Through the success of this programme, PLN UID Yogyakarta reaffirmed its commitment to providing reliable electricity supply, excellent service, and supporting community activities through quality, sustainable, and customer-oriented energy provision.
