Ahead of Hajj peak, PPIH distributes vitamins C and B to elderly pilgrims
Sungailiat (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia has distributed immunity packages to elderly Hajj pilgrims to maintain their physical resilience in Makkah ahead of the Hajj’s peak.
‘The immunity packages are provided free of charge to elderly Hajj pilgrims, including vitamin C and B,’ said Giapul Prabungga, head of Group 8 PLM, on Monday from Sungailiat.
For non-elderly pilgrims, vitamins are brought by themselves from Indonesia.
‘Vitamin supplementation is crucial for Hajj pilgrims, particularly during the peak rituals at Arafah Plain, where stamina must be at its strongest,’ he added.
Giapul stated his team is coordinating with the Hajj group committee, PPIH Saudi Arabia, and Syarikah to ensure all pilgrims reach Arafah on schedule, on 8 Zulhijjah 1447 AH.
‘Out of 444 pilgrims in Group 8 PLM, 130 are elderly,’ he said.
All Group 8 PLM pilgrims are in good health, including 26-year-old Muhammad Mardiansyah Eko Saputra, who was previously hospitalised at Al Noor Hospital in Saudi Arabia for hyperthyroidism but has since recovered and returned to the hotel.
