Ahead of Execution, Sultan Hotel Land in GBK Area Begins Measurement Process
JAKARTA – The government has begun surveying the land currently occupied by Hotel Sultan Jakarta in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex in Central Jakarta on Monday, 16 March 2026.
Rakhmadi Afif Kusumo, the Chief Executive of the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Centre (PPKGBK), stated that the measurement constitutes a formal land verification (constatering) process ordered by the Central Jakarta District Court.
“Today we are executing a decision carried out directly by the Central Jakarta District Court, namely the constatering process,” Rahmadi said at the GBK complex on Monday.
The process is conducted by a court clerk or bailiff to verify the location, boundaries, and area of the property according to the court’s previous decision, before execution takes place, thereby avoiding errors in implementation.
According to Rahmadi, the constatering is performed to match and verify the land boundaries at the Sultan Hotel site in accordance with the application submitted by PPKGBK together with the Ministry of the State Secretariat regarding state assets in Block 15 of the GBK area.
As per the Central Jakarta District Court clerk, the constatering process focuses on Block 15. Additionally, the government is permitted to conduct an inspection of the former Building Use Rights (HGB) 26 and HGB 27.
Rahmadi noted that both former HGB certificates have now become state property.
Chandra Hamzah, legal counsel for PPKGBK, stated that the constatering conducted on this day represents part of the process leading to the hotel land’s execution. During this process, the land is measured and its boundaries are determined by the Central Jakarta District Court.
To verify this information, the Central Jakarta District Court has requested assistance from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) to determine the location, boundaries, area, and other aspects of the land.
“Once verified, they will return to the Central Jakarta District Court and we will await the execution of the court decision,” Hamzah added.
Hamzah estimates the measurement process could take approximately one to two days.
Previously, the government through PPKGBK, under the Ministry of the State Secretariat, pledged to promptly execute against the land and building occupied by Hotel Sultan Jakarta.
The government hopes that the former operator will cooperate and voluntarily hand over the assets to preserve the business climate and protect workers’ livelihoods.
