Ahead of Eid, Pertamina Cuts Avtur Prices in Eastern Indonesia
JAYAPURA, KOMPAS.com — Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku is providing a 10% discount on Avtur. The discount applies at Sentani Airport in Jayapura, Frans Kaisiepo Airport in Biak, and Pattimura Airport in Ambon. The policy is effective from 14 March to 29 March 2026. This measure targets the Eid homecoming period.
Area Manager for Communication Relations and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku, Ispiani Abbas, explained the purpose of this policy.
“This policy is a form of support to bolster the programme for affordable ticket prices during the 2026 Eid holiday period for the public. Especially in Papua and Maluku, flying is not merely a luxury but the lifeline of transportation,” Ispiani stated on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
“By providing a 10% Avtur discount, we hope to give airlines room to adjust their operational costs,” she added.
Pertamina is also maintaining Avtur supplies in the region. The company has prepared stocks at 12 Aviation Fuel Terminals. This step ensures smooth flights during Eid.
“Our commitment to maintaining Avtur availability is crucial to preserve air connectivity in eastern Indonesia during the Idulfitri holiday,” Ispiani said.
Additional services are also being prepared at the airports. Pertamina is introducing the MyPertamina Corner at DEO Sorong Airport. This facility provides a resting area for passengers.
Homecomers receive mobile phone charging services, children’s games, and giveaways. Free health services and porters are also available.
“We want the presence of Pertamina Patra Niaga to be felt through maximum warm service, one of which is through the MyPertamina Corner at DEO Sorong Airport,” Ispiani remarked.
“From assisting with luggage via free porters, to inside where there is a waiting area, children can play, there are snacks and a travel pack, making the wait for the flight more comfortable at the MyPertamina Corner,” she added.
Pertamina hopes this policy will support the smooth mobility of the public during Eid. Air connectivity in Papua and Maluku is deemed crucial due to the limitations of other modes of transportation.
