Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, Jakarta City Hall Pendopo Decorated in Middle Eastern Style

Front of the pendopo is dressed with curved ornaments in a style typical of Middle Eastern architecture, with carvings in gold and brown. The ambience feels grand yet warm. At the entrance, three dark-green curtains hang down, framing the main doorway of the pendopo. In the center, a hanging lantern-style light is installed as a decorative feature, reinforcing the Ramadhan and Lebaran atmosphere. Additionally, several potted palm plants are lined along the pendopo’s terrace. These are paired with arrangements of white orchids neatly arranged in terracotta pots. The green touch from the plants and the white from the flowers provide a cool and elegant atmosphere. Several white ornamental lanterns with geometric motifs are also placed along the stairs and in the corners of the pendopo. The stair area leading to the pendopo, clad in grey marble, looks clean and glossy. The interior of the pendopo remains spacious and neat. However, Ramadan-themed additions have been made, such as crescent-shaped ornaments and a sign reading ‘Ramadhan 1447 H Mubarak’ mounted in one corner of the room.
