Ahead of Eid al-Fitr exodus, Kalideres Terminal conducts a pre-'ramp check'
Jakarta – Kalideres Terminal management in West Jakarta is conducting a pre-‘ramp check’ or preliminary inspection of bus fleet roadworthiness ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 exodus, on Monday 9 March. Kalideres Terminal chief Nur Prasetyo said the pre-‘ramp check’ is being conducted in cooperation with the Unit Pengelola Pengujian Kendaraan Bermotor (UP PKB) Kedaung Angke. ‘Later we will cooperate with PKB Kedaung Angke. The pre-’ramp check’ is planned for Monday 9 March,’ Prasetyo said when contacted in Jakarta on Thursday. In the preliminary inspection, they target 30 buses to be involved in the activity. ‘That’s in the morning to the afternoon, so as many as possible from PKB. But the estimate is 25-30 vehicles,’ he said. ‘So if there is anything lacking during the pre-’ramp check’, we urge that it be complete when the ramp check occurs,’ Prasetyo added. In the pre-‘ramp check’ there are several segments to be checked. The first segment is administrative elements, such as the Vehicle Testing Certificate (STUK), supervision cards and Driving Licence (SIM). Then the second segment is the main technical elements, ranging from lighting system (headlights, indicators, brakes, reverse), braking system (main brakes, parking brake), vehicle body (windscreen, front door) and tyres (front and rear). The final segment is supporting technical elements, including lighting positions (headlight and tail light positions), vehicle body (mirrors, horn, floor and steps) and seating capacity (number of seats). Then vehicle equipment including spare tyre, jack, wheel wrench and a torch.
